The biggest disparity in out-of-school time lies in enrichment access. While most districts provide extended care programs, before expanded learning, special-topic enrichment classes that are designed to engage through special topics in programming, robotics, chess, music, art, cooking and such were only reserved for the affluent communities. Now, the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P) is changing that fundamentally–every California student in every school can now access vibrant enrichment programs.
